Fun and Games with the Staff at AKR
On October 10th, 2015 after the last guests of the week boarded the bus to the airport, the resort officially began its scheduled two-week maintenance break. Our annual staff party then commenced on the key, where over 200 staff came to enjoy each other’s company and to celebrate another successful year. A massive meal of island fare was served, including a delicious Tapado, a traditional Garifuna dish. Tapado is a mild, but rich stew made with coconut milk along with a medley of seafood and meat that all come together in a pot full of thick and savory goodness. Following lunch came music, dancing, games, giveaways, and a good time for all!
