PADI Open Water Diver – Full Course
PADI Open Water Diver is the first Scuba Instruction level. A highly-trained PADI Instructor will teach you how to scuba dive in a relaxed, supportive learning environment. By the end of the course, you’ll have the skills and knowledge to dive at home or abroad and be an ambassador for the underwater world.
- Course Prerequisites: 10 years minimum age. Able to swim and comfortable in the water. Medically fit for diving.
- Time Commitment: PADI Open Water Diver eLearning + 5 confined-water dives + 4 open-water dives

PADI Open Water Diver – eLearning Waterwork
With a PADI® eLearning, you can start your scuba training digitally whenever and wherever it’s convenient for you—then finish your certification once you’re here. This means you can avoid studying during your vacation!
- Course Prerequisites: 10 years minimum age. Able to swim and comfortable in the water. Medically fit for diving.
- Completed: 5 sections of PADI eLearning Open Water Diver Course.
- Includes: 5 confined-water + 4 open-water certification dives

PADI Open Water Diver – Referral
Can’t decide whether to get your scuba certification while on vacation or at home before you travel? With a PADI® Open Water referral, you don’t have to choose! A PADI referral allows you to complete most of your Scuba Instruction at home – and then finish your certification dives once you’re here. This means you can avoid studying during your vacation!
- Course Prerequisites: 10 years minimum age. Able to swim and comfortable in the water. Medically fit for diving.
- Completed: 5 sections of PADI Open Water Diver Course and 5 confined-water certification dives.
- Includes: 4 open-water certification dives

PADI Discover Scuba

PADI Scuba Diver Certification
Short on time? The PADI Scuba Diver course is a subset of the PADI Open Water Diver course, and it might be right for you — particularly if you expect to go scuba diving primarily with a dive guide. This course is an intermediate step for earning an Open Water Diver certification if that’s your ultimate goal.
- Course Prerequisites: 10 years minimum age. Able to swim and comfortable in the water. Medically fit for diving.
- Time Commitment: First 3 sections of the PADI Open Water Diver course + 3 confined-water dives + 2 open-water dives.
