Visit West End on Roatan Island

West End, which is in the larger West Bay area of the island, is a small section of the island that is home to some great restaurants, shops, and nightlife spots. While guests are welcome to visit these spots, most prefer to stick to our very own Frangipani Bar, which offers delicious cocktails. We also have a weekly Fiesta Night where visitors can cut loose. Our fiesta nights are often one of the highlights of our guests’ stay here! You’ll listen to local music and watch cultural performances from native Garifuna Dancers while enjoying a delicious buffet.

We have a fantastic package that lets our guests get a bird’s eye view of Gumbalimba Park in West Bay. When you include our Canopy Tour, you’ll soar over the treetops of Roatan in a thrilling ride. As with all of our excursions, transportation is included, so you won’t have to worry about a thing. Once you arrive at the park, which is about a 17-minute drive from our resort, you’ll have a brief lesson on safety and technique. From there, you’ll head to the first platform, which towers at 60 feet in the air. Then you’ll start sailing down the lines. There are 13 traverses in total, which lead you from the mountains of Roatan to the park’s beaches.

Explore Sandy Bay on Roatan Island

From soaring above the treetops to galloping along the sand, there are plenty of ways to sightsee on Roatan. We suggest that all of our guests book our horseback riding package to visit the town of Sandy Bay. You may recognize this quiet town from when you arrived at Anthony’s Key Resort. Our mainland buildings are all located in this town, including our dive shop, snack shop, and Roatan Museum. You’ll get to see more of this area during your horseback ride through Sandy Bay. You’ll ride through the town before heading to one of Roatan’s most gorgeous beaches for an exciting gallop. This package lasts for 45 minutes and is available for guests ages eight and up.
